In earlier post I have said over and over again that you should do your research.  What should you research?  Everything!

I have also mentioned that in addition to finding out anything related to the business you want to start, you should also know as much about yourself as possible.  The next few post will address some of the things that you need to take into account before you actually set up your online business.

Bear in mind that starting an online home business is not as difficult as some would lead you to believe nor is it as easy as some others would tell you.

You can lessen the stress level and difficulty by doing your research before you start your business.  Of course, if you are a glutton for punishment and want to start your business first and then learn on the fly, be my guess.  Just be ready to spend more money than you have to.

In the last post, I addressed the question of why do you want to start an online home business.  That, of course, should be one of the first questions you should ask yourself. Why?  It will help you with the choices you are going to make.

What product or service will I provide?

In this post, I address the issue of what product or service will you want to provide to your customers.

I got into MLM back in the late Seventies because somebody invited me to a meeting.  Well I bought into the hype and did ok only because several of the people I recruited were very good at selling. I was not very good at it.  I had done no research on it and I just could not get into the Old School method of MLM.

Well, since then, I stayed with MLM , in one company or another, because I love the concept.  I was learning on the fly.

Once the internet came along, a different world opened up for me.  One that I could use successfully.  All of a sudden there was a New School of MLM.  Now, not only is MLM my primary business, I am also involved in several other ventures.

However, unlike me, other people start an online business based on knowledge and experience that they have already. Others may see a need in the market that they can fill.

Just remember it is important that you carry out research with companies and individuals that you do not know in order to obtain a more unbiased view. For example, you may like Company A but your research shows it is an unreliable company.  Best to move on.

Let me stress here that you do as much reading and research on everything you can about particular areas of interest, as well as studying the pros and cons that this will have in relation to your overall goals.

You should also make yourself familiar with your competitors. This could boost your confidence and enthusiasm for setting up your online business. You could also pick up some tips for your business.

Finally, remember that starting an online home business does not necessarily mean generating an income immediately. You have to give yourself time to work through the training, research, learn and implement all that you can.
