Starting an Online Home Business? Why?
In MLM, one of the questions asked of someone who wants to start their own business is “What is your Why?” How a person answers that question can give you some information on whether that person is a good candidate to join you in your business.
Well, if you want to start your own online home business, you should ask yourself that question. Why? Why do you want to start your own business?
Personal.
For some of you, your “Why” may be personal (i.e. spend more time with family and friends; more flexibility).
For me, control over my working life was a big plus as it is for some of you. I can work today if I want to and I can set my own hours.
Setting your own work schedule allows you to spend more time with your family and friends.
It used to be that a family could survive pretty well with one bread winner in the family. Now, more often than not, both spouses have to work to make ends meet. Sometimes one of the spouses has to work a second job.
Where do you find time for family and friends with that schedule?
Some of you just want to get out of the Rat Race. You’re tired of getting up in the morning, still sleepy and tired, getting ready; get the kids off to school and than rushing off to your job.
If you drive to work, you probably get stuck in traffic. If you take public transportation, you hope there are no delays so you can get to work on time.
By starting your own online home business, you could save yourself a lot of wasted rush hour time and use it anyway you want. Go back to bed after you get the kids off to school if you want. Remember, it’s your business – your schedule.
Financial
For some of you, your “Why” may be financial (i.e. become financially independent, own your own home, pay off debt).
I would say that many of you are looking to make a few extra bucks because your job doesn’t pay you enough to live worry free. Some of you will even turn your part-time venture into a full time business.
By becoming financially independent, you can lead a much less stressful life. You can pay off your bills so you don’t have to worry about them.
Professional
For others, your “Why” may be professional (be your own boss, enjoy your work, be recognized for your achievements).
Many of you feel unappreciated in your job. It seems like the only time you are noticed is when the boss thinks you screwed up. Many of you don’t even like your job. You feel like your talents are being wasted (and probably are).
How often have you been told what a great worker you are, followed by a promotion or an increase in your salary? What? Never?
So remember, although it matters what your “Why” is, what matters more is how important it is to you, how strong it is. Are you willing to work hard if you have to? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to make your online home business a success?
If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, forget it. If you think you can start an online home business and the money starts rolling in without any effort on your part, forget it.
So what is your “Why” and how strong is it?
